Installation of branch pipes

2024-08-14

If you know the refrigeration principle of central air conditioning, you will know that there are two copper pipes connecting the indoor unit, one for gas and the other for liquid. Therefore, the branch pipe is divided into gas pipe and liquid pipe, also called large pipe and small pipe. As the name implies, the gas pipe is for gas, and the relative gas circulation area is much larger than that of liquid, so the gas pipe is also a large pipe, while the liquid pipe is for liquid, so a small pipe can be used.

The installation of branch pipes is very important for the operation of the central air conditioning multi-split system. On the basis of correctly selecting branch pipes, the installation specifications of branch pipes should be followed:

Branch pipe connection: the inlet is connected to the outdoor unit or the previous branch, and the outlet is connected to the indoor unit or the next branch.

1. Before installation: Before installation, check whether the diameter size of the copper pipe is consistent with the diameter size of the required branch pipe. If the diameter size of the copper pipe at the installation site is different from the diameter size of the required branch pipe, use a cutter to cut off the different parts. Note: choose the same diameter size to cut off.

2. Placement: When installing the branch pipe, try to place the branch pipe vertically or horizontally. When placed horizontally, the inclination deviation is ±10°.

When installed vertically: it can be upward or downward, and the three ports must be on the same vertical plane, but no inclination is allowed

3. Notes: For branch pipe multi-way systems, each pipe is labeled so that the connecting pipe after branching corresponds to the indoor unit to prevent wrong connection.

4. Flushing: Flushing is to remove impurities in the pipe with nitrogen pressure. (Mainly dust, moisture, oxides caused by welding, etc.)
